    Air crash in Phuket

Breaking News! Air-2-Go Airlines from Bangkok to Phuket crashed while attempting to land at Phuket International Airport which was experiencing bad weather. Casualties are expected to be high...

    Bigger things to come ...

At 815 pm tonite, Carol got an SMS from her about a major earthquake in the SW region of Indonesia. SMS stated tsunami alert being sent to all those living around Penang, Kedah, Perlis and Perak. Guess we should keep an eye out on this rock and roll situation. Hopefully, nothing major will happen. Lets pray that Dec 26 2004 will just be a note in history and not repeated again.

    The thing!

Something is growing under the sea off the coast of Trinidad. No, Uncle Louis , it's not a beastly monster but something close to it. Apparently, an underwater mud volcano is emerging from the sea and it's causing the sea around that area to be very turbulent. Guess it's the time of the year when Chinese around the world are celebrating the Hungry Ghost festival. Incidentally, today is the first day of the 7th Month of the Chinese Lunar Calendar.

In fact, fishermen around the area consider the emergence of the volcano a bad omen. One interest fact I did find out is that Trinidad and Tobago is the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas.

Each time the mud volcano grows, the waves violently erode the mud away. Guess this is so interesting. Could this be  a sign of the times? I am not sure. Somehow, this is one of the many wonders of the world that continue to amaze all of us.

    Did something happened ?

Did something happened today? I was told that the Star for the Northern region did not hit the streets until late afternoon. I am not sure of the details but was told that delivery of the Star paper for the Northern region hit a snag. I checked with my wife and was told that the newspaper was not delivered at all today. Anyway, I relied solely on www.thestar.com.my for news nowadays. Maybe it's time to do away with printed ones and pay for online versions.

Again, no confirmation on www.thestar.com.my website about this incident. Lets wait for further news then.

Steve "The Crocodile Hunter" Irwin Passed away

Andrew - thanks for this piece of news. Steve Irwin, one of my first favorite environmentalist, that made me watch Discovery Channel - passed away so suddenly in Australia. Freak accident. I started watching him when I caught him on Discovery on Astro sometime back.

Hard to believe this nice gentleman and fun guy is now no longer with us. May god bless his soul, always.

We will always remember you, Steve.

    Stuck on the lift!

Heard in via the radio that Nell of RedFM got stuck on the lift for almost an hour. Reminds me of my experience when I got myself into such situation. No one knew where I was. Happened in the US when I was attending an English class. Got stuck with my English lecturer - yiaks!

Anyway, we kept ourselves busy talking from everything about work, studies, Malaysia, entertainment. Poor Nell - she must be terrified! Well, she is on the air a shortwhile ago. A bit shaken not stirred. Glad you are out!

The last communist on RedFm - next Monday!

TGIF friends! I guess I want to at least share what I have heard at 10 am this morning on RedFM! The Director of the documentary banned by Malaysia will be on the call in programme. Anyway, no harm tuning in and listen to something alternative - I am sure that the truth is being heard around the world - if you are in US or just can't get hold of a radio, you can tune in via the Media Player on their website. It's Malaysian time - 8am.

Now, I am sure lots of sympathizers will call in to ask questions but be open folks --- this was capture from the blog The Last Communist

".....But it’s still exceedingly heartening to see a film that stoically portrays our nation’s history, choosing not to honour or to criticise, but simply to document." - NST reviewer Jeremy Mahadevan...

So what you waiting for??? Put it in your calendar! Monday 22 2006

    Know your rights!

    Know Your Rights!

Interestingly, RedFm profiled a piece of news about knowing your rights when you are in a situation with the law. Yes the LAW - the Police - Polis! Suggest you read through what your rights are before, during and after detention by the police. This little booklet was published by the Malaysian Bar. You can download
    it here

Guess, you will never know when you will be in this situation, right! Have a great weekend!

    Bird flu in Malaysia!

Yikes! Looks like HN51 has hit the shores of Msia. It was confirmed that this deadly flu virus has killed 40 chickens in a village in Selangor. Strangely, the Govt says it's isolated case. I call this a danger sign. I hope the authorities will do its best to curb this dreaded flu virus.

Hmmmmm....look at this pathetic statement and tell me if you think that the Govt is really trying to cover up or something !

Hallo - if it's - it's lar.. What this isolated case crap????  Singapore was quick to react by banning the chickens...gulp!
